That was tragic (and funny) on so many levels. That she gave the speech in her Florida bathrobe, the subtitles, and that it happened for real during an actual legislative session and not during a skit on "Saturday Night Live" are all competing for the "Most Tragic" crown.
This is hilarious. We lost the game, but I am so happy to not be associated with the university this nut case is preaching about. Perhaps I am naive, but I thought our government was a bit more important than to allow this type of display.
There are times in the House when they can make speeches about anything they want. It doesn't have to be about any bill or anything. In the Senate, I believe they can talk about anything they want any time that they want. During filibusters in the past, they've talked about their grandchildren or given dramatic readings of the phone book.
